External Resources
So, you, for some reason, want to find out about alternate sources for some reason; you want to learn more about a particular piece of history, find out what sources we use, or just think our whole amateur shtick is really annoying and want to learn history from talented folks. Well, here you are, imaginary strawman reader! Enjoy!
Crash Course
These guys are pretty awesome; they're a youtube channel devoted to teaching you various aspects of history, ranging from Haiti to Hawaii. Keep in mind, they are rather biased, so most of the stuff they put out is going to seem poisonous to conservative listeners. But if you get past that, they do a ton to show us history in a different light and setting than what we're used to. And heck, they don't just do history; they do loads of different topics. So.... yeh. Check 'em out. (Man, this description was long. Next one will be shorter. Promise.)
Extra History
Normally a game-design-focused program, they've recently branched out into teaching history. They aren't exactly Oxford textbooks, but they manage to make the historical stories surrounding these time periods engaging and interesting, and they address as many of the factual inaccuracies, biases, and detail-fudges as they can at the end of each series. Overall, a good bunch of folks.
